Regulations on postgraduate and doctoral studies of KhNTUA

Regulations on pedagogical practice of KNTUA graduate students

Postgraduate and doctoral training is carried out in the following specialties:

– 051 – Economy;
– 073 – Management;
– 131 – Applied mechanics;
– 132 – Materials science;
– 133 – Industry engineering;
– 141 – Power engineering, electrical engineering, and electromechanics;
– 163 – Biomedical engineering;
– 275 – Transport technologies (by types).

Forms and term of study:
Doctoral studies
– full-time, part-time, on a state order with a scholarship, two years.
Postgraduate studies:
– full-time – with separation from production, by the state order with payment of the grant, term of training – four years;
– in absentia – on-the-job, training period – four years (on a contract basis);
– applicants – without separation from production, without a state order without payment of a scholarship, training period – five years (for full-time employees of KhNTUA);
– contract – for graduate students (citizens of Ukraine), with a break from work, the period of study – four years, the contract amount – 20,000 UAH per year;
– contract – for graduate students (foreign nationals), off-the-job, training period – four years, contract amount – $ 2,000 per year.

Persons who have the appropriate higher education and are candidates of technical or economic sciences are admitted to doctoral studies.

Applicants for doctoral studies submit the following documents:

1. Statement addressed to the rector.
2. Personal personnel record sheet (with photo).
3. Autobiography (in any form).
4. Медична довідка про стан здоров’я за формою 086-о.
5. A copy of passport (1, 2 pages, and residence permit).
6. A copy of the certificate of assignment of the identification number.
7. A copy of the employment record book (first and last page of the last place of work).
8. A copy of the diploma of the specialist or the master with the appendix.
9. A copy of the diploma on awarding the scientific degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Candidate of Sciences).
10. A copy of the certificate of academic title of associate professor (professor, senior researcher, senior researcher) (if available).
11. List of published scientific works and inventions (according to the established sample with the definition of professional editions on a specialty of the supposed dissertation).
12. Detailed plan of dissertation work.
13. Excerpt from the minutes of the meeting of the Academic Council of the Institute on the recommendation for admission to doctoral studies, the appointment of a consultant, and the topic of the dissertation.

14. Excerpt from the minutes of the meeting of the Academic Council of the University on the recommendation for admission to doctoral studies.

15. Written description of the entrant’s scientific activity, compiled by a doctor of sciences who is a full-time scientific-pedagogical or researcher of the relevant higher education institution (scientific institution), with the consent to be a scientific consultant in case of his admission to doctoral studies.

Applicants to graduate school submit the following documents:
1. Statement addressed to the rector.
2. Personal personnel record sheet (with photo).
3. Autobiography (in any form).
4. Medical certificate of health form 086-o.
5. A copy of passport (1, 2 pages, and residence permit).
6. A copy of the certificate of assignment of the identification number.
7. A copy of the employment record book (first and page with a record of the last place of work).
8. A copy of the diploma of a specialist or master with an appendix.
9. A copy of the certificate of passed candidate exams (if available).
10. Excerpt from the minutes of the meeting of the department on the recommendation for admission to graduate school, the appointment of the supervisor, and dissertation topic.
11. List of published scientific works and inventions (if there are less than three, then entrants to graduate school submit a scientific report (abstract) on the selected scientific specialty).
12. Individual curriculum of the graduate student’s work (within two months from the date of enrollment in graduate school).

The originals of the documents are submitted in person.

In case of obtaining the relevant education abroad, a copy of the nostrified diploma (certificate) is submitted.

Acceptance of documents for doctoral and postgraduate studies on a full-time basis is carried out from March 1 to May 31 of each year.

Terms of conducting entrance examinations in specialties and foreign language by a higher educational institution from June 1 to June 30 of each year.

Postgraduate and doctoral students of full-time education are provided with a dormitory (if necessary).

 

There is a commission for taking candidate exams in the following specialties:

– 051 – Economy;
– 073 – Management;
– 131 – Applied mechanics;
– 132 – Materials science;
– 133 – Industry engineering;
– 141 – Power engineering, electrical engineering and electromechanics;
– 163 – Biomedical engineering;
– 275 – Transport technologies (by types).
