Today, on the initiative of the first vice-rector of KhNTUSG M. Lysychenko an important meeting was held on the issues of increasing the information activity of the university in the Internet space and full-fledged presentation of scientific publications of the university staff there. During the meeting, the university’s ranking indicators published on Webometrics and the components of information activity that have the greatest impact on these indicators were analyzed.
The meeting was attended by the Vice-Rector for Research of KhNTUSG V. Melnyk , head of the educational department N. Berezhna , director of the scientific library of KhNTUA N. Nikolaenko , acting Head of the Media Communications Department L.V. Firsova , chairman of the trade union committee V. Kis, Head of the Information and Computing Center О. Kovalev and employees of the scientific library and Media Communications . In particular, the leading engineer of the scientific library О.В. Nesterenko and the deputy head of the library O. Rybalchenko informed about the methodology of rating formation Webometrics and mechanisms for raising the university’s ranking. During the meeting, a range of issues was outlined that will be resolved in a working order.
Help: Webometrics is an initiative of the Laboratory of Cybermetrics, Research group belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), the largest public research body in Spain. The purpose of the rating is to study the presence of universities and research institutes on the Internet and to promote the open publication of research results.
