In total, this time the representation in the web space was estimated for more than 30 thousand free economic zones of the world, including 316 free economic zones from Ukraine.

FOR REFERENCE:

The Webometrics ranking is the highest academic ranking of higher education institutions. Every six months since 2004, the Cybermetrics Laboratory (Spanish National Research Council, CSIC) has published a ranking based on independent, objective, open online presence and impact data to provide reliable, multidimensional, up-to-date information on university performance from around the world. Currently, the rating includes more than 30,000 free economic zones in the world. Data are collected during the first weeks of January and July, and are published to the public at the end of both months. The purpose of the Webometrics ranking is to encourage an academic presence on the Internet, to promote the transfer of scientific and cultural heritage of universities to the community.

The authors of the rating believe that web presence is a key factor for freelancers. The methodology emphasizes that the rating aims to motivate both freelancers and scholars to a web presence: “if the place is below the expected position, university authorities need to review their network, open access and transparency policies, significantly increasing the volume and quality of electronic publications.”
