Today, many parts of the world celebrate International Accounting Day. We sincerely congratulate the employees of the accounting service of KhNTUA headed by the chief accountant Tetiana Danylenko, as well as all employees and graduates of our university who have an accounting education.
A special congratulations to the staff of the Department of Accounting and Auditing, headed by Doctor of Economics Tetyana Marenych, because they are the ones who train highly qualified specialists, including accountants-economists.
We truly thank our accountants for their professional and dedicated work and wish that their debit always coincides with the credit.
We would like to remind you that the idea of making a general international professional holiday for accountants has been discussed for a long time because almost every country has its own professional holiday for accountants. And the date of November 10 was chosen for this purpose, not by chance. It was on this day, November 10, 1494, that Venice published a book, All About Arithmetic, Geometry, and Proportions, by Luca Pacioli, who attempted to summarize his knowledge of mathematics at the time. One of the chapters of this book was called “On Accounts and Other Records.” Pacioli described the use of order journals and accounting registers and also predicted that the employee would not be able to go to bed until the debit coincided with the credit. The Day of the Accountant and Auditor in Ukraine is officially celebrated on July 16. The date of the celebration was chosen in honor of the day of adoption of the Law of Ukraine “On Accounting and Financial Reporting in Ukraine” (July 16, 1999).
