The Rectorate and the Trade Union Committee of the Kharkiv Petro Vasylenko National Technical University of Agriculture congratulate the staff and students of the University on the Constitution Day of Ukraine. These greetings are joined by the Department of Public and Private Law of KhNTUA, as well as our friends and partners from other institutions of higher education.
Exactly 25 years ago, on June 28, 1996, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a new Constitution of Ukraine – the first in the history of the independent Ukrainian state. The adoption of the Constitution consolidated the legal foundations of independent Ukraine, its sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the fundamental rights and freedoms of citizens. This laid the constitutional basis for the development of Ukraine as a democratic, social, legal state.
The Constitution of Ukraine recognizes man, his life, honor and dignity, inviolability, and security as the highest social value and establishes that human rights and freedoms and their guarantees determine the content and direction of the state. Accordingly, the Constitution Day of Ukraine is a state holiday, which is celebrated at the official level.
