From today, the university is moving to a distance form of work and study. This decision was made at a meeting of the Academic Council of the University, which took place online under the chairmanship of the rector of KhNTUA O. Nanka.
At the beginning of the meeting, the rector acquainted the members of the Academic Council with a letter from the Department of Education and Science of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, which recommended all higher education institutions in the Kharkiv region to switch to distance learning and education due to the deteriorating epidemic situation of coronavirus disease. Also, O. Nanka called on the scientific and pedagogical staff of the university and students to strictly adhere to sanitary and preventive measures and make maximum use of distance forms in the educational process and that in no case affect the quality of education. “Our main task in this situation is to preserve the lives and health of university staff and students, but without losing the quality of work,” said the rector.
Other members of the Academic Council also spoke about improving the quality of the educational process and scientific work at the university. In particular, the Vice-Rector for Research and Teaching and International Relations Yu. Vitkovskyi reported on the organization of training in English-language groups for foreign nationals, as well as on the filling of the university system Moodle with relevant teaching materials.
The head of the educational department N. Berezhna informed about the results of the inspection of the Institute and the faculty of TSL on the attendance of classes in March 2021 and the task of organizing the educational process on the Google Meet platform.
Professor P. Gurskyi reported on the results of the next scheduled supervisory audit of the certified management system of KhNTUA in accordance with the International Standard ISO 9001: 2015. In particular, he stressed that the university has successfully passed the recertification audit, and minor deficiencies identified during its implementation will be corrected in a working order.
Appropriate decisions were made on these issues.
During the meeting of the Academic Council a number of working issues were also considered, in particular, regarding the organization and functioning of the electronic access system at the university and the renaming of the Department of Physics and Theoretical Mechanics. The Academic Council unanimously supported the proposal of the named department to name it after Professor Oleksandr Ivanovych Spolnyk, who was the head of this department for over 40 years and recently passed away.
The Academic Council also supported the candidacy of the Director of the National Scientific Agricultural Library of NAAS, Academician of NAAS of Ukraine, Doctor of Science, Professor VA Vergunov to fill the vacancy of a corresponding member of the NAS of Ukraine in the field of “History of Ukraine” (Department of History, Philosophy and Law).
