KNTUA students are preparing for the election of the chairman of the student parliament. The stage of nominating candidates for this position has already ended. Yesterday in the university’s main building, there was an open debate between the candidates running for the post of student parliament. There are three of them. These are Maryna Romanashenko, a fourth-year student at the National Institute of BML, and Vitalina Strenadko, a second-year student at the same institute, and Sofiya Krivonis.
It is worth noting that all three applicants are excellent students, civic activists, and student government leaders. And yesterday they proved it once again during the debate, which took place with the participation of representatives of all research institutes and faculties of the university. The moderator of this event was the chairman of the trade union committee of KhNTUA V. Kiss. After greeting the audience and giving the floor to the candidates, they announced their election programs and answered students’ questions.
The debate was held in a democratic and constructive atmosphere. The election of the chairman of the student parliament will take place on June 9.
It is worth noting that student government is an integral part of the management system of our university and unites all students of KhNTUA. Student self-government protects the rights and interests of students and their participation in the management of the university both directly and through student self-government bodies elected by direct secret ballot of students. An important body of student self-government is the student parliament, which is elected from among representatives of all educational and research institutes and faculties of KhNTUA. The chairman of the student parliament is elected for one year.
