These days, when our university celebrates its 90th anniversary, it receives many congratulations from former graduates and staff, who will remember with great warmth the years of study or work at the university. Such congratulations also came from Ivan Gorbenko, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Academician of the Academy of Engineering Sciences of Ukraine, a famous inventor and innovator, whose works are known far beyond Ukraine. Suffice it to say that I. Gorbenko has 16 copyright certificates and patents for inventions and utility models and more than 40 scientific papers published in technical journals.
Ivan Ilyich began his path to great science at the Kharkiv Institute of Mechanization and Electrification of Agriculture, which he graduated with honors in 1962. After that, he worked at the Orikhiv Agricultural Engineering Plant for almost half a century, including as a design engineer, head of the design bureau, senior foreman of the welding and assembly shop, head of the press shop, deputy chief technologist, chief technologist, and head of the technical department. For the last 15 years I. Gorbenko has worked as the chief engineer of the Orsilmash plant, which specialized in the production of equipment for livestock farms (suspension tracks, feeders, feed steamers, etc.)..
Ivan Gorbenko made a significant contribution to the development of domestic agricultural engineering, as evidenced by his well-deserved awards and distinctions. In particular, he was awarded medals “For Labor Distinction”, “For Valiant Labor”, “Veteran of Labor”. In addition, as a participant in World War II, he was awarded the medal “Defender of the Fatherland” and “65 years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.”.
We truly thank Ivan for increasing the glory of our university with his achievements and authority. And we wish him good health, home comfort and long life.
