Expedition “Wooden house-building of Prykarpattia”

Teachers of the Department of Woodworking Technologies and System Engineering of the Forest Complex KhNTUSG and students of relevant specialties visited Ivano-Frankivsk region during the summer internship. There they got acquainted with the work of house-building enterprises, the history and wonderful nature of Prykarpattia.

The expedition visited Vorokhta, Yaremche, Kryvyi Rih, Bukovel and Verkhovyna, where the research construction sites of the wooden house-building company KarpatDerevoBud are located. The participants of the expedition had the opportunity to get acquainted with various constructions of spruce and spruce houses, the technology of their constructions, to observe different stages of construction.

The cultural program of the expedition included acquaintance with the history and original culture of the region, folk crafts (a significant part of which is associated with woodworking), visits to museums in Kosiv. Everyone remembered the wonderful nature of Prykarpattia, mountain rivers, warm and friendly atmosphere of communication, hiking in the mountains, picking blueberries.

 

The expedition was supported by the Kosiv Institute of Decorative and Applied Arts of the Lviv National Academy of Arts. Teachers of the Department of Art Woodworking conducted interesting tours of creative laboratories and workshops of the educational institution. We express our warm words of gratitude to the director of the institute Yurchyshyn Halyna and the candidate of art history Vakh Ivan, who was our constant guide during the whole expedition.
