As part of the introductory practice, first-year students of the Institute of Mechanotronics and Management Systems of the educational program “Agronomy” (specialty 201 “Agronomy”) acquired practical skills at The Рlant Production Institute named after V. Ya. Yuriev of NAAS. Head of practice – Ph.D., Associate Professor V. Bezpalko.
During the internship, students got acquainted with the staff of the Institute and got acquainted with the work of its laboratories. In particular, in the laboratory of grain quality, which is headed by the candidate of biological sciences O. Bilynska, students acquire skills in the preparation of grain samples for baking high-quality bread.
In the laboratory of seed production and seed science, headed by Yu. Ogurtsov, students directly practiced determining the moisture content of grain and sampling for various types of analysis, as well as determining the sowing quality of soybean seeds.
Note that The Рlant Production Institute named after V. Ya. Yuriev of NAAS of Ukraine is one of the leading research institutions of Ukraine of the agrarian profile, which conducts various studies of modern breeding and plant areas. The institute was founded in 1908 and its best traditions today are continued and multiplied by 118 scientists, including 14 doctors of sciences and 53 candidates of sciences, 4 professors, and 46 senior researchers.
The Kharkiv Petro Vasylenko National Technical University of Agriculture has close cooperation with the Institute of Plant Breeding. V.Ya. Yuryeva, who helps to develop modern agricultural science and educate young people about it.
